Ayer, por fin tuve ocasión de ver “El incidente”, la última película de M. Night Shyamalan, director de “El Sexto Sentido”, “Señales” y “El Bosque”, que parece que va perdiendo cada vez más fuelle con cada una de sus nuevas películas.
What does “The Incident” offer us? Well, more of the same, nothing new. In short, it is a film about people escaping from the air, whose only objective is to make you nervous, because the plot is as simple as it can be: plants create toxins that make people commit suicide and the air transports them, so you have to escape from them.
Although it seems like I just dropped a spoiler like the top of a pine tree, nothing could be further from the truth, because it is something they tell at the beginning of the film (when people commit mass suicide, the first thing you think is that the plants are to blame, logical).
The actors also leave a lot to be desired, especially Mark Wahlberg, who has less expressiveness than a mussel. Zooey Deschanel, despite being perfectly preserved at 28 years old (and, curious to say, she is the girl who appears in the video clip for The Offspring: “She’s Got Issues), is incapable of rescuing a film that is already beginning dead with an unpleasant beginning more typical of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is irrelevant in a film like this.
In short, if you get bored, you can watch this movie, which is a mix between “Signs” and “War of the Worlds”, but don’t expect any wonders. Better yet, don’t expect anything because it’s a scam.
