Data processed
The website does not provide user accounts, sign-in, article publishing or file uploads. It also has no first-party comment, analytics or advertising system.
As with any website, the server may temporarily process IP addresses, timestamps, requested resources, referring pages and browser data to deliver content, maintain security and diagnose errors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website. This data is retained only for the period necessary for technical and security purposes.
If you email the contact address, your address, message and the data needed to reply are processed to handle your request. Correspondence is retained while necessary to handle it and meet possible legal obligations.
Comments and external content
Comments are provided by Disqus, which is not loaded until you press “Load comments”. Disqus may then receive your IP address and technical data and process information you submit under its privacy policy.
Some posts contain videos, maps or other material from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps and Blip.tv/AOL. These remain blocked until you press the relevant button. The provider then receives at least the technical data needed to establish the connection and applies its own privacy policy. See the cookie policy for details.
Recipients and transfers
Technical data may be processed by hosting and infrastructure providers needed to publish and protect the website. If you choose to load an external service, its provider may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in its privacy policy.
Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction or erasure of your data, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may also withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing.
You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency if you believe your data has not been handled correctly.
